Favorte and Eventus laid the cornerstone for a new commercial building on Kadaka tee

Property developer Favorte and construction company Eventus Ehitus placed a cornerstone on a 16,000 m2 commercial building, that rises on the property of 42b Kadaka tee. The building, which bears the name of Kadaka Trade Center, is due to be completed as early as the end of next year.

Rainer Hinno, Board Member of Favorte, said at the ceremony that Kadaka Trade Center is the company's largest development project so far. “16,000 m2 of commercial space has been spread over two floors: retail premises on the street level and service & office areas on the second floor. The rear part is made up of stock-office units and a 500-kW solar park will operate on the roof of the building,” said Hinno.

“Today we lay the building's cornerstone, which usually marks the beginning of construction. However, we think that we are already halfway through – a lot has already been accomplished, which includes assuring the building permit. We have also finished building Kivikülvi tee - new infrastructural pipes have been installed underground and fresh asphalt has been laid on the ground,” added the board member of Favorte.

“We thank all our partners, including the constructor Eventus Ehitus and its manager Lauri Kaska, with whom we have started our ninth project together. Special thanks to the tenants of the Kadaka Trade Center and, of course, our team at Favorte. The commercial building at Kadaka Road 42b will be spectacular and it will contribute to replacing the old, depreciated warehouses and production buildings of the Laki-Kadaka region with modern and energy-efficient commercial buildings,” said Hinno.

In his speech, Urmas Kõpp, deputy head of Mustamäe district, noted that both the city and the private sector are giving it all to create leisure venues in public spaces and, according to the latest research, residents of Mustamäe are greatly satisfied with the work they have done. “We are pleased that such commercial buildings are being built here. This means that residents of Mustamäe can earn a living and consume essential and necessary services near their homes,” said Kõpp.

“Kadaka tee 42b commercial building is very attractive. We hope that the other buildings that will rise here in the future will not lower their standards. For our part, we can promise that soon we will complete the reconstruction of Kadaka tee so that this road will become a true business hub,” said the representative of the district.

During the ceremony, architectural plans for the building, the constructor’s business card, a copy of fresh Postimees & Mustamäe Leht, and polaroid photos from the event were inserted into the time capsule. All partners, thanks to whom the construction of the building has become possible, could contribute to the burial of the time capsule.

To date, more than 20% of the commercial space already been rented out at Kadaka Trade Center. Favorte invests €16 million in the construction of the commercial building and surrounding infrastructure. The architect of the building is Jüri Pilliroog from the Architectural Office LOOB Project and the principal designer of Kadaka Trade Center is Marven Aus from Ehitusinsener OÜ.
